Are you gearing up for Raya 2024 travel plans? Well, here’s some fantastic news for you! The Minister of Works, YB Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi recently inspected PLUS Malaysia’s preparations for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
In a bid to delight all Malaysians, especially those celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri, the government approved two days of toll-free travel exclusively for Class 1 vehicles (private vehicles) on April 8th and 9th, 2024. This initiative aligns with the Unity Government’s focus on public welfare and aims to alleviate the cost of living for citizens.
During these two days, toll charges will be waived on all highways starting from midnight on April 8, 2024 (Monday) until 11:59 pm on April 9, 2024 (Tuesday), incurring an estimated compensation cost of RM37.60 million.
It’s important to note that toll exemptions will apply at all toll plazas except for the ones at the country’s borders namely Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) Toll Plaza and Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza in Johor Darul Takzim.
This generous move by the government symbolizes their care and joy in celebrating with the Malaysian people. Consequently, an increase in traffic volume is expected across all highway networks during this period.
For travelers using the North-South Expressway (PLUS), it is advisable to plan your journey by adhering to travel time advisory recommendations through the MyPLUS-TTA application. With this app, users can select their preferred travel times based on entry and exit toll plazas along with suitable travel schedules.
Make sure you take advantage of this rare opportunity to enjoy a hassle-free journey as you make your way home or embark on your Raya visits. Stay tuned for more updates leading up to this exciting toll-free period courtesy of PLUS Malaysia as we celebrate together!
