airasia Superapp introduces ‘Payung Rahmah’ initiative to support affordable travel and connectivity

airasia Superapp has introduced three initiatives as part of its support towards the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living’s Payung Rahmah initiative, to facilitate affordable travel and connectivity for the people of Malaysia.

The Payung Rahmah initiative with airasia Superapp was launched today by Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Salahuddin bin Ayub, Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living during a press conference in airasia Superapp’s headquarters in KL Sentral. Also in attendance was Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, CEO Capital A, Mohamad Hafidz Mohd Fadzil, acting CEO of airasia Superapp, and Lim Chiew Shan, Regional CEO of airasia ride.

Leading the initiative to facilitate affordable and convenient connectivity on ground is airasia ride’s RM1 promo at five selected hotspots, namely Putrajaya & Cyberjaya (as one combined area), Bukit Bintang, Bandar Sunway, Bangsar South and Mont Kiara. This promo is applicable every weekday (Monday – Friday) from 12.00 PM onwards, and is applicable for the first 3,000 bookings per day (subject to a minimum travel booking charge of RM5).

Each booking of airasia ride’s RM1 promo will be entitled for the ‘Ride, Fly & Stay’ Rahmah Package, where they will receive the promo code RAHMAH50 to knock RM50 off each of their hotel booking and flight booking.

App users can also apply the same promo code RAHMAH50 for RM50 off hotel bookings at any destination, as well as RM50 off flights to any international destinations via its OTA (online travel agent platform) separately.

Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, CEO Capital A added, “We are proud to support government initiatives such as Payung Rahmah, and would like to thank the Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living for launching our initiative today.

“Just like AirAsia the airline, airasia Superapp was born with the idea of making travel affordable, accessible and inclusive for everyone, whether you’re in the air or on the ground. It has always been about providing the best value to our customers, and further extending the dream of affordable travel to millions through a one-stop travel superapp. From flights to hotels to ride-hailing and more, we have it all in one place. And today, we are pleased to announce the Payung Rahmah initiative together with the ministry, led by airasia ride’s unprecedented RM1 promo. This is set to benefit nearly 200,000 people, especially students at schools and universities around the selected locations. We hope this will enable more people to enjoy seamless transportation experiences without compromising their budget.”

YB Datuk Seri Salahuddin bin Ayub, Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, said, “We would like to commend the efforts by airasia Superapp for participating in the “Payung Rahmah” initiative. The ministry launched this programme earlier this year in line with the government’s aim to assist the cost of living of Malaysians. Since then, we have managed to onboard thousands of businesses across key industries in the country that support the same message, and we are excited to include airasia Superapp as a prominent brand to offer affordable travel and connectivity, especially through the RM1 airasia ride offering.”

airasia Superapp’s vision is to provide a seamless end-to-end travel booking experience for every traveller, ranging from flights, hotels, airport transfer, ride-hailing, culinary experiences, travel retail and duty-free shopping, insurance and much more in one convenient app. All of these services are encapsulated by the airasia rewards loyalty program, allowing users to earn and redeem airasia points for every transaction within the app.
